EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
EMR is an acronym for electronic medical records. An EMR is a computerized file of information that stores medical health information for an individual. It is often referred to as electronic health records (EHR) and has recently become the spotlight of much attention because of the significant benefits, including cost savings and medical practice efficiencies used to save time and improve quality.
Physicians once used paper medical records are now switching to electronic medical records because of government incentives and pressure. However doctors and patients are now beginning to recognize the value associated with an EMR software system. Many medical practices are making the switch to an electronic medical records system that offers convenience, quality improvements and reduced costs. |
